  I think you might be having problems because you are still on the neighborhood screen. Move your family to a lot and then use the motherlode cheat. I have not had problems doing it this way.

  As far as I've been able to tell the money cheat will not work in the hood before you buy a house. I tried that as well to give my sim a better house but it wouldn't allow it. It only let me do it once I already moved into a house.
  As for the family funds cheat that isn't part of one of the sims 3 cheats. They have a whole barrage of cheats now.

  Yeah it works for me as long as you're in the sims area and not the main neighborhood.

  You have to be in live mode on a lot before you can do the cheat, so just pick a place and do the cheat then move out. Or just choose a place you like. From what ive seen it wont work before you place your sims or when your in building mode.

  Thank you all for posting this, I am so happy to see that the motherlode cheat works in Sims3, I was able to play my game for the first time for just a little bit last night but did not even try the cheats yet, I to need my cheats, I was so busy just trying to get them working and every thing I did not have time to explore. Please I so hope some one will post any new cheats there may be. Please.

  I wish there was a way to add money to a family's fund without having to move them into a house, cause I would like to start off in a big house, and just skip moving them, cheat code, moving them out and then moving them into the new house. Oh well.

  Yeah, type in 'freerealestate' no spaces while in the neighborhood screen, after you've selected your family, and you can move them into any house, free of charge.

  You don't have to be in live mode -- I've done it from both Build and Buy Modes -- but you do have to have chosen a family and put them on a lot before you can use the money cheats (motherlode or kaching).

  Are you playing a specific family? You have to have a family selected and have one of them active (in your Portrait Panel) before you can use it.

  edit: yes... because single household money cheats work on the neighbourhood screen >_<
  Also did you know Shazaam actually works... or it might have worked or i was drunk when i saw it happen. Can't remember. :shock:

  For freerealestate and familyfunds you need to have testingcheatsenabled true on first, you can do it through the hood that way I think.
